I am a firm believer in creative and artistic endeavors. We as humans are made to create, and we are lost without the ability to make something more beautiful than we found it, be it through interior design, painting, drawing, music, or the stage.

I love to make art, but I also don’t like to make a mess. I know sometimes they go together, but messes are hard for my brain. Enter modern quilts. Lots of color, geometric patterns, precision, lots of practice, and in the end you have yourself a beautiful piece of artwork you can snuggle up under. I love creating something useful and practical with my creative time while still satisfying that art itch, and without the mess! I am, on occasion, covered in threads but that is easily remedied.

My goal with Candor Quilts is to teach all who want to learn the joys of the modern quilt. How to construct. How to compose. What colors to mix. Then take that process, streamline it for maximum efficiency and create systems and habits that help you make your vison become a reality.

It won’t happen over night. I can’t impart 13 years of knowledge and wisdom in a single pattern or class, but I can help you to learn the things that took me many years of practice and mistakes to discover. I can show you how to make a quilt in a day if you must, or over many weeks if you will. I can teach you how to make the back as pretty as the front and help you decide on what equipment you need.
